the maker.

to honour creativity as meditation…as therapy…as connection…as worship: a sacred current that moves through hands and heart, shaping the unseen into form.

Taught from the age of 8 to sew, dress-make and embroider from a retired seamstress, my days of creativity were rooted in perfectionism and dedication. Going on to become a milliner and shoemaker by trade at 18, it wasn’t until I was immersed in a bachelor of design in Fashion + Textiles that I discovered the joy of returning to a life of design not defined by convention. A true merging of soul callings, creativity and spirit that shaped not only how I designed things, but how I intuitively journeyed through life itself.

At the heart of Kin of Eden is my soul calling for us to return to our true selves…to be seen and honoured for who we are called to be…

An unlocking of creativity…

A return to wonder…

A merging of Soul tribe….

My studio doors are open. Let’s tell your story.

 FAQs

  • To measure your head size take a cloth measuring tape or piece of rope.

Position it 2cm above your eyes, ears and around the biggest part of your head at the back. It should be sitting where you want to wear your hat- make sure it’s comfortable- not too tight and not loose..

Take your time and measure twice! This is the foundation your crown!

Heavy Felts will need to be made to your exact head size, whereas Lightweight felts have more flexibility.

Whilst many of us share the same head size, each head has its own unique shape and blueprint. If you have not had a studio fitting with me to shape the hat to your unique shape, you can hold it to your head with steam and water. Exact instructions will be sent with your hat purchase, or message me for assistance.

  • Traditionally hats are made from 210g fepsa certified fur felt, but are made in a variety of weights and felts.

Wool felts can be ordered as a cheaper (and less durable) option.

When possible I love sourcing reclaimed leathers and trims- giving life to discarded textiles.

  • Store your hat out of direct sunlight.

Leaving your hat on a car dashboard is the fastest way for your hat to loose its original shaping (and to adopt the shape of your dashboard 🫠).

To clean, brush your hat with a bristle brush or spot clean with masking tape.

Fine (very fine!) sandpaper can be lightly rubbed in a circular motion to remove more stubborn stains. Go lightly. taking layers off your hat can’t be reversed.

  • All hats are handmade by me (Em ✨).
